We’re excited about your interest in serving at Denton Bible Student Ministries as a Summer Ministry Assistant! Our hope in offering this opportunity is that you can be better equipped for whatever ministry God might be calling you to in your life. We are all called to ministry at some level, but this opportunity will expose you to a high level of ministry that will hopefully better equip you for the future. Whether this ministry is done at a lay level or a vocational level, we are hopeful that God will allow this opportunity to help you go further faster for the ministry He is calling you to! We can’t wait to begin this journey with you!

Your Weekly Schedule: The dates for the 2026 DBSM Summer Ministry will be May 25 to August 3. You can expect to invest an average of 24
hours per week throughout this opportunity.

Attending Sundays: On Sunday mornings, our students gather for a time of worship through music and teaching as we aim to Equip them for Life. During the summer, we have one combined service on Sundays where MS and HS students worship together. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for all students and building relationships with students while they attend.
Hours Per Week: 2 (10:30am - 12:30pm)

Hangar Nights: For two months during the summer, we have mid-week gatherings for MS and HS students. These are designed to Establish a Connection with students. These events are highly relational times. MS students meet on Wednesday nights, and HS students meet on Thursday nights. You’ll be required to create, organize, and implement both evenings.
Hours Per Week: 8 (6pm - 10pm Wednesdays and Thursdays)
June 3 and 4 | June 10 and 11 | June 17 and 18 | July 8 and 9 | July 15 and 16 | July 22 and 23 | July 29 and 30
Outside of these Wednesday nights, there are no designated DBSM gatherings during the summer. We encourage you to use those nights to start a Bible study with students, make disciples, or plan other activities to get to know students and leaders.

Office Hours: You will need to spend a few hours in the office helping with planning and working together with the staff. These hours will be on Monday or Wednesdays.
Staff Meetings: Come be a part of our DBSM staff meeting on Monday mornings (9am-5 pm) and Wednesday afternoons (1pm-5pm). During this time we will pray, evaluate programs and events, and divide various upcoming tasks.
Various tasks: You’ll have time to plan, dream, and execute tasks for various programs, trips and events, maintain the SMC, and anything else!
Hours Per Week: 12 - Mondays: (9am - 5pm) & Wednesdays: (1pm - 5pm)

Events, Trips & More: Along with your weekly tasks and requirements, you will also be asked to assist our ministry with Sportsworld
and Family Fun Night.
Sportsworld (June 22-28): This is our main ministry focus for the month of June. Each staff member will have different roles during the week of Sportsworld; however, we still work as a unit to help produce one of the craziest and unique camps anyone has ever seen! You will be given a certain role/assignment for the week. You will not only be responsible for your particular role, but also be ready to serve the camp in whatever capacity possible!
Summer Bash (June 3rd and 4th): This is our first event that launches us into the summer! Think of this as a glorified hangar night. We use this
night to connect with students at the Hangar and welcome incoming 6th graders (Wednesday night) and incoming 9th graders (Thursday night).
***Ultimate Adventure (pending...) Pack your bags! We are heading to Chattanooga, TN with our high school students! Van rides, hikes, tribal
wars, fellowship, and the Lord—what an awesome combination! This trip is designed to get middle school students away from the pressures of their world and show them the depths of God's Word.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Can I have a part-time job during the summer? Yes! We don’t mind at all; however, we will need to know your schedule and your summer internship with us needs to be prioritized above your part-time job.

Can I take classes over the summer? Yes! But just like taking a part-time job, just try and prioritize this opportunity and please tell us your
schedule. Tuesday and Thursdays are a great day for this.

What does a typical Monday look like?  Every Monday is a great day to re-connect as staff by having an all-staff meeting from 9:00 -12:00 pm! We then go to lunch together! We are friends first and coworkers second here at DBSM!

What does a Hangar Night look like? Hangar Nights run from 7-9pm most weeks during the summer. HS and MS meet on Wednesday nights. Your job is to help prepare each night with snacks, water and fun to help engage our students! The nights consist of sports, games, and whatever else you and your fellow staff come up with! They are very chill nights and great for relational ministry.

What is my role on a Sunday morning? Every Sunday morning in the summers we combine 6-12th grade in the SMC Auditorium from 11am -
12:15pm. We typically go through one book like the Psalms together and we never really know how many students to expect! Your role will be to help give “invites” announcements every morning and to “connect” any and all students that come through our doors and “engage” them into discipleship.

Is this paid employment? Yes! You will fill out a timesheet every two weeks and get paid that way. We can explain how this works and the amount in-person.
