Since our beginning in 1976, we have been committed to evangelism, discipleship, equipping, and serving in ministry.
The main function of this position is to help DBSM male students and leaders live in community and fall deeper in love with Christ. The position assists in encouraging male students and leaders to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through learning, discipleship, serving, and small group studies.
- Meet with male leaders and students for the purpose of deepening their relationship with God, life-on-life discipleship, community, Bible study, counseling, mentorship, and overall encouragement in their walk with Christ.
- Organize small groups
- Aware of the spiritual, mental, and physical health and well-being of each boy’s group
- Disciple and encourage the girl leaders as they disciple students
- Counsel male leaders and students
- Shepherd volunteer leaders
- Work with a team of staff to help create and develop community for all DBSM volunteer leaders
- Coordinate “Leader Chills”
- Creatively develop new ideas to foster leader community
- Assist with leader community events
- Participate as part of the teaching team. Exposit God’s Word on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
- Attend all DBSM weekly events, using this time to connect students to leaders, facilitate community, troubleshoot, and solve challenges, and help facilitate the direction of DBSM and its staff.
- Assist administrative functions.
- Assist in keeping all areas of Student Ministries organized and efficient.
- Manage leader application process; keep leaders current on background checks and training.
- Assist in planning needs for transportation, meals, lodging, activities, parent involvement, leader-student ratio, etc. for trips and events.
